WASPC & Prepared Response brings Rapid Responder to the State of Washington by Washington Association of Sheriffs & Police Chiefs (WASPC) Posted: August, 2002 WASPC & Prepared Response brings Rapid Responder to the State of Washington Last December, in response to authorization from the Washington State Legislature, the Washington Association of Sheriffs & Police Chiefs (WASPC) and the Washington State Association of Fire Chiefs (WSAFC) licensed Rapid ResponderTM an Emergency Preparedness & Incident Response system from Tacoma based Prepared Response, Inc., (PRI), as a statewide standard. Rapid Responder, when fully populated with facility data, can provide First Responders with instant 24/7 access to facility information needed to react more quickly, decisively and safely to emergency incidents involving schools, government and commercial properties. Available information typically includes floor plans, contact lists, utility shut-off location information, hazardous materials types, locations, MSDS and Tier II reports, as well as digital imagery of interior and exterior building features. "Seasoned" deployment professional, Marti will share her experience - "challenges and rewards" of a great working partnership between government and business. As director of deployment for Prepared Response, Marti works on a daily basis with law enforcement and firefighters to co-develop a robust database that will enable responders to access information that will allow them to react quickly and decisively in an emergency situation.which ultimately will result in saving lives and mitigating property damage. The "rewards far outweigh the challenges" as together we work to create a safer environment for our children, our workforce, our responders, our seniors. There is a new spirit of cooperation and care for each other post 9/11.says Marti. "I have seen people put aside their own agenda to work for the common good." It is so refreshing to see communities pooling resources from the private and public sector to make our world a safer place. |
