National Sheriffs’ Association Endorses Rapid Responder

The National Sheriffs’ Association (NSA) has endorsed the Rapid Responder crisis management system. This is the first official endorsement of a crisis management system from the NSA.

Over the past year, the NSA has conducted a thorough evaluation of Rapid Responder and Prepared Response Inc. The NSA verified Rapid Responder’s effectiveness during emergencies through interviews with clients and first responders who have used the product.

Rapid Responder in Action

Rapid Responder has been used for many emergencies ranging from a broken pipe to a school shooting incident.

One of our user school districts in South Carolina recently used the system during a chemical leak. The incident happened at a high school after hours but a sports team was still in the building at the time. There was a report of a “chemical leak” and the building was evacuated.

The local fire department set up a command post. The district safety officer accessed Rapid Responder in the command post and opened a floor plan of the school knowing that “Hazards” such as Chemical Storage Closets would be listed. He located the closets and relayed that information to the incident commander who was able to have his firefighters inside check those rooms. The rooms were clear but it helped them determine that it was NOT coming from any of the school’s chemicals. After the firefighters cleared the building and came back outside, the district safety officer showed one of the firefigthers the image of the chemical closet and the firefigther said that it was exactly like it looked to him inside the building. He was pretty impressed. The “chemical leak” appeared to be related to an HVAC issue at the school.

Having instant access to faciltiy information during an emergency can help first responders save valuable time.
