Prepared Response, Inc. Dramatically Increases Revenue
New contracts for crisis management company increase contract revenue by 600 percent

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 11, 2005 -- Prepared Response, Inc. (PRI), a privately held technology company, today announced a substantial increase in year-over-year revenue growth. Contracted revenue grew from $1.7 million in 2004 to $12 million in the first half of 2005, an increase of 600 percent. The dramatic rise in revenue is attributed to an increased focus on emergency preparedness following 9/11 and subsequent terrorist events and natural disasters worldwide. Prepared Response, Inc. develops crisis management software that provides police, fire, and other first responders with critical information allowing them to more effectively mitigate a wide variety of emergency situations. The company's flagship program, Rapid Responder TM, is currently deployed to over 288 public safety agencies and protects more than 4,000 buildings across the U.S.

"The World Trade Center tragedy, the London bombings, and the recent hurricanes have driven home the importance of preparedness and a coordinated response during emergencies," said Jim Finnell, president and CEO of Prepared Response, Inc. "As a result, local, state, and federal government agencies, as well as corporate America, are now looking for systems such as Rapid Responder that help save lives and mitigate property damage."

The company recently completed a $3.3 million project to digitally map more than 420 Washington state high schools. The project, funded by both state and federal dollars, was managed by the Washington Association of Sheriffs and Police Chiefs (WASPC). The company was then awarded a $3.5 million contract by WASPC to digitally map all of the states' middle and elementary schools. In September 2005, following a competitive bid process, Prepared Response was selected from among 10 competitors nationwide to develop a Critical Incident Planning and Mapping System (CIPMS) that will catalog Washington states' critical infrastructure under a $1.4 million contract. The CIPMS system is designed to digitally map and inventory critical infrastructure such as bridges, public utilities, transportation centers, ports, and other key public infrastructure. The company also has received commitments for more than $2.43 million from schools across the U.S. that have submitted proposals for grant funding to install Rapid Responder in their facilities. In addition, the company has begun projects in the private sector, including a Fortune 100 manufacturer, a regional hospital center, a hotel, a large expo center, and a port facility.

"The Prepared Response team has done an excellent job in developing innovative solutions for the rapidly growing emergency preparedness market," said John Carleton, senior vice president of Benaroya Venture Capital and chairman of the board of Prepared Response. "Life safety issues are paramount for both the government and private enterprise, and as these entities evolve their emergency preparedness and response programs, the opportunities for Prepared Response will continue to grow."
