Prepared Response Now a Reseller of Veratect’s Pandemic Data Reporting System
SEATTLE -- May 7, 2009 -- Prepared Response, Inc., the leading provider of emergency preparedness and response solutions, today announced it is now a reseller of Veratect Corporation’s VeraSight™ Global (VSG) pandemic data reporting system through the federal government’s General Services Administration (GSA). This particular contract program also allows state and local governments to acquire Veratect’s solutions through the GSA under the Local Preparedness Acquisition Act.
VeraSight Global is a web-based data reporting system that provides access to a real-time display of disease events worldwide together with analytical reporting, event histories, regional summaries, and situational awareness of other events in the vicinity from any other event of interest. This service provides current information for early indications and warnings of disease threats to humans, animals, and plants. Users can filter the output by data range, location, severity, disease and disease type. Prepared Response has conducted pandemic influenza and bio-emergency awareness and planning courses at facilities across the country.
“VeraSight Global was used to help detect the worldwide outbreak of the H1N1 influenza otherwise known as swine flu,” said Bob Hart, president and CEO of Veratect. “We are committed to providing early detection of potential threats to human, animal and plant life while empowering corporations, government organizations, NGOs and global citizens with trusted and actionable information. The GSA provides an easy way for clients to access VeraSight Global.”
Veratect’s public health experts and regional analysts incorporate data from more than 40,000 original sources in more than 30 languages for the company’s unique 24-hour tracking and comprehensive reporting services. The company’s exclusive methodology targets local sources, which often report the signs of disease outbreaks before being officially diagnosed.
“Prepared Response is pleased to be a reseller of this important and timely early detection data reporting system,” said Jim Finnell, president and CEO of Prepared Response. “Veratect has created a cutting-edge platform that provides users with a real-time display of emerging risks such as diseases and civil unrest that can help assist with planning and response.”

The solution is being used by 626 first responder agencies and is deployed in nearly 15,000 facilities nationwide including schools, airports, hotels, stadiums, hospitals, convention centers and other critical infrastructure across the country. Rapid Responder is the only crisis management system certified as “Qualified Anti-Terrorism Technology” through the US Department of Homeland Security’s SAFETY Act program.
